01 / Brand visual
Find the expression.
Explore atmosphere, materials and daylight. Use the current image as a reference to make small, deliberate changes instead of starting over.
Google × VELUX / Generative AI workshop
I built Daylight Studio and helped facilitate a hands-on workshop, giving VELUX teams a way to turn ideas into images and short films.

01 / The challenge
A useful AI workshop needs more than a prompt box. People need a clear path from their intention to something they can discuss, change and share.
For the Google × VELUX GenAI Summit, the creative task centred on the possibilities of daylight in the home. Participants explored how a brief could become a visual direction, a concrete room transformation and a short film.
I built a bespoke web application for that flow and joined the Artefact team in facilitating the hands-on lab. The focus was on making creative iteration understandable and practical.
02 / The product
Daylight Studio starts with a brief: who the work is for, what it should communicate and what the participant wants to make. That intention carries through each creative task.
01 / Brand visual
Explore atmosphere, materials and daylight. Use the current image as a reference to make small, deliberate changes instead of starting over.
02 / Product placement
Start with an existing room and show what a product change could look like. Keep the original alongside the result for a direct comparison.
03 / Film
Plan shots, generate stills, animate the sequence and add a soundtrack. Review the result as one film, ready to download and share.
03 / A concrete example
This prepared example adds two roof windows to an unfinished loft while preserving the room, viewpoint and existing details. The change is easy to see and easy to talk about.

Original roomGenerated concept04 / The prepared film
Five six-second shots follow a fictional loft transformation, from an unused room to a place to sit and enjoy the daylight.
An adult woman explores an unfinished attic. The story moves forward to roof-window installation, then to a furnished reading room. She settles into an armchair and enjoys the daylight. The closing frame carries VELUX branding. This is a prepared, fictional workshop example.
05 / Behind the experience
I treated continuity, persistence and sharing as part of the creative experience.
A continuing shot uses the previous clip’s actual final frame as its starting image. Deliberate cuts mark changes in time or setting, such as a jump from installation to the finished room.
Browser storage keeps participants’ work between sessions. Sharing is an explicit action, so the gallery contains the outputs they choose to show.
Reusable examples make the flow easy to demonstrate. End-to-end browser checks and a staggered test with ten simulated groups helped check the workshop setup.
Participants can review their shots together, select music and export a composed film. The example above is a saved output from that workflow.
06 / My contribution
I designed and implemented the studio, integrated image, video and music generation, prepared examples, and tested the complete flow. During the workshop, I helped participants develop prompts and turn their briefs into creative outputs.
The work brought together the parts of AI engineering I enjoy most: building a system, paying attention to how people use it, and refining the details through real feedback.
